Krista Laraine Argento began her fine jewelry store career in sales, marketing and design in 1998, in New Smyrna Beach Florida. She has since worked for several jewelry stores, both in Florida and Vermont before starting her own business in 2011- Krista Laraine Designs. From this grew a small but devout fan base for her pieces and selections, using social media and personal referrals to spread the word. Her husband, Jayson Argento, having a background in business and retail, along with being a known artist in the community for both film and music- decided to work with Krista to open their very own jewelry store. They decided on Williston Vermont for their location- very convenient for smaller surrounding towns to access and a need for an upscale jewelry store which embodied the spirit of Vermont, while catering to community and visiting guests. Opening their doors just before Christmas of 2012, Argento Laraine began as a mostly high end fashion jewelry retailer. Throughout the year, they evolved into a store which offered an extensive bridal selection, loose diamonds, vintage and estate jewelry and hand made creations. As they continue to grow, they are always looking for ways to make sure that their clients have the best possible experience shopping with them.

Now a famous and trusted jewelry store in Houston with well esteemed master jewelers, Reiner’s Fine Jewelry actually got its start in New Orleans, Louisiana in the early 1900’s. The store was started and operated by three brothers: Morris, Nathan and Jacob Reiner. While the oldest brother, Morris, kept the original store, the other two would eventually branch out on their own. Jacob decided to stay in New Orleans and founded his own store, while Nathan, the adventurous one of the trio, decided to move with his wife and family of three to start his own jewelry store in Houston, TX. In February 1945, Reiner’s Jewelry was born in downtown Houston!

Nathan and his wife Bessie laid the foundation for the Reiner’s excellence of today. They would later be joined by their daughter, Dorothy, and their two sons, Irvin and Jack. Nathan’s love for delivering exceptional customer service and the finest value in jewelry stayed firm. He continued working at the shop and growing the business with his family well into his late eighties. The business and Nathan’s dream was eventually handed down to his daughter and two sons who would work together for many fine years. The store would move several times, though it always remained a popular landmark along Main Street in downtown Houston, TX.

Though Jack passed away at a young age, Dorothy and Irvin continued to work together. They were joined by the third generation, Irvin’s oldest son, Steven, and Jack’s oldest son, Lenny. In 1980, Steven showing his continued interest in the industry, traveled to California to attend the Gemological Institute of America. It was there that he became the store’s first ever Graduate Gemologist in Residence.

In 1992, Reiner’s Fine Jewelry sought a new direction. After many years of being in downtown, the store decided to take up new roots in the suburbs. So the store relocated to its current location, 2210 Westheimer. Dorothy has since passed away, but in the store today you will find the knowledgeable and friendly trio of master jewelers in Houston: Irvin, his son Steven and his nephew, Lenny.
